We all have our own personal, stylised definition of L_O_V_E love. How we came to acquire our understanding and how it continues to evolve are equally personal. Lovesblind aims to promote love, help people to understand love, and maybe even encourage people to 'believe in love again'.

I had my first brush with love in the 1970's ... Back when 'Social Media' meant newspapers. As a small boy I enjoyed doing the Jumble each day ... and then waiting expectantly for the solution in the following day's edition. Alongside of the Jumble, in the cartoon/comic strip section, sat a daily one of these ...

“Love Is ... is a comic strip created by New Zealand cartoonist Kim Casali (née Grove) in the 1960s. The cartoons originated from a series of love notes that Grove drew for her future husband, Roberto Casali. They were published in booklets in the late 1960s before appearing in strip form in newspapers in 1970.”

Numerous of the Love Is captions (like the one above) appeared to be circular ... Love is love ... which to my small mind was a bit like 'if God created everything, then who created God?' As the days and weeks passed, this love thing seemed to be more and more complicated, onerous and confusing. How was one to remember all these rules? What if you forgot some? Was it something that was exclusively for nude people? If love was 'taking one day at a time', what if you didn't? Could you go back and correct that? Or were you doomed like Romeo & Juliet? So many questions!
One thing was absolutely certain, however ... Asking adults (or at least my adults) wasn't helpful!
