Thanks for joining my journey.
I lay claim to being THE most loved blind cat on the planet! If love is blind, then I guess I am the blind leading the blind! Currently, I live a wonderfully protected and safe life. But it hasn't always been that way ... and I am smart enough to know that things can change again in an instant. I may only be a cat, but I understand the laws of the Universe ... and impermanence is right up on the top shelf.
Helen Keller, a fellow 'vision-impaired visionary', is quoted as saying this:
I have chosen to live the daring adventure! I only know that I am blind because I've been told that I am blind. To me I am 'normal'. I'm also told that for cats (and maybe people as well?) that having sight, and then becoming blind, is harder. I can't say. I've always been blind. In my world I focus on my stuff and I just BE ME and do it well.
My story ...
begins on the streets of Brisbane, Australia. A tail (sic) of survival, challenge, adaptation, setbacks, perseverance, teen-pregnancy, trust, adoption, skill, a good slice of old fashioned luck, and love. It is a victory very much against the odds. I hope you enjoy me telling it ...
But for now, just remember that I am Sophie ... and I am the most loved blind cat on the planet!
